Chromatic Spectrum (Self Portrait)

I was born in Englewood, New Jersey. I was told by my parents that I used to dig holes during the late evenings of Summer at a playground. However, I hardly remember the stories my parents explained, since I came back to live in Korea when I was just 2 years old. Therefore, I am familiar with the culture of Korea, where no one hardly steals your belongings at a cafe and makes kimchi in Winter. But living as an international student in Korea, II never understood the thrills of wearing a Korean public uniform or preparing for the annual Korean university entrance exam like the others. However, I believe that these multicultural experiences helped me establish diverse characteristics, allowing me to manifest both cultures through this video. The spectrums of colors, presented in this video, represent my varying identities and backgrounds. The Korean traditional patterns shaded on the sculpture represents the time and influence I had from the culture of Korea, and the affection I noticed belatedly as I prepared to study abroad in the US.
